What are VCE's?

html5 geek matt 160VCE stands for Virtual Classroom Environment. We all have been in a classroom. It is a place where the teacher will lecture, meet with students one on one, or in a group, distribute handouts etc. The classroom environment also includes the office, to register or transfer to another class, to pay for a class, or inquire about future classes etc. Virtual stands for computer-generated, online. So instead of the brick and mortar building you have known, our infrastructure exists online. Does it mean that everything is pre-recorded and available online? No, this would be Asynchronous learning. Our VCE's allow for both asynchronous and synchronous learning.(Read more about the delivery of E-learning here) Yes, our VCE's offer both live training in a virtual classroom environment, and the pre-recorded content offered as a support to the course being taught.

The simplest way to understand VCE’s is to think of your local school, not the large campus but that one building middle school you walk by on your way home. Then consider each part of this building, and think about heir specific function.

  • The office for all administrative purposes.
  • The various classrooms for classes.
  • Finally the teacher’s corner, where he/she may store notes, handouts, critiques etc.

These three key functions are absolutely necessary to provide a fully functioning educational environment. The office is not enough by itself, and even adding it to the classroom you would still be missing the last part, the teacher’s corner, where students can download missing handouts, review the subject of a class they have missed etc.

The Virtual Classroom

The way we structure your sites allows us to assign a specific function to each and every part of it.

  • The site acts as the Office. It is the location for all administrative tasks, the place for registering students, accepting payment, offering information about the various courses offered and managing the duties needed.
  • The dedicated Virtual Classroom is where one would offer live classes, lectures and workshops, and is the most critical part.
  • The teacher’s corner is available on the site, but is password protected and can only be accessed by the registered members of the current class.

Vivuart provides its members with a website to feature their courses. Vivuart manages everything for them, and provides access to a dedicated Virtual Classroom Environment, supported by a technician at all times. With advances in technology, a teacher in Wyoming can offer classes attended "live" by students located anywhere in the world. Vivuart manages, supports and empowers teachers worldwide to share their knowledge and expertise.
